A: I think this is my best piece of creative work so far. This is a photograph that I took of the Pasha Bulker when she ran aground in a storm on Nobby's Beach in Newcastle. There were so many images made of this incident by everyone from passers by to professional photographers. I tried to capture something original that was dramatic but that also included the people that had come to see the spectacle.
B: This is the "Winged House" designed by Richard Goodwin. The house is perched precariously on the edge of a sea cliff in Tasmania overlooking Bass Strait. As it's name suggests, the roof form is shaped like an aeroplane wing. Things that make me think that it is a "great piece of architecture" are the simplicity of the building and the way that it works on the site - it would be awesome to be sitting in that room watching a storm roll in! The house looks like a giant bird that is about to take off from the cliff edge.
C: I love the Australian alpine region. I took this photograph one morning on a backcountry skiing trip. During the night before there was a big storm and the wind was blowing so hard that I thought that the tent was going to blow away with me in it! We got up in the morning to find that storm had completely disappeared and the whole place was eerily quiet. The wind had blown snow and ice into all of the surrounding snow gums and had stuck to the trunks and branches
